Welcome to VORTEX ANTENNA SYSTEMS

VORTEX ANTENNA SYSTEMS was an idea Steve by (G0UIH/VK2IAY/3D2FI) and had been in a planning phase since 2008. Steve is a seasoned DXpeditioner with a passion for IOTA and Island Chasing, having activated many Pacific Island groups as a ‘Solo’ 1 man DXpeditoner since the late 80’s. He also has built many of his own antenna systems and has enjoyed experimenting and building systems since 1979.

Steve’s wife (Gail) is also an integral part of the operation giving full support to the venture.

At VORTEX we’ve set out to produce a line up that will stand the test of time. The idea was to produce a premium high end product range that our customers would be proud of. During the two years of R&D (2009/2010) we’ve spent many hours sourcing hardware and components that combined together would form the building blocks of top world class computer designed antenna systems. During our first six months of 2011 we have shipped antennas worldwide to many satisfied customers and pride ourselves on premium built high performance systems.
Vortex are currently suppliers to HM Government with the emphasis on bespoke MIL Spec solutions for extreme environments.

Many enthusiasts also enjoy designing and making their own antenna projects, so VORTEX offer a comprehensive selection and extended range of components and materials to assist the constructor in completing their own designs. We’re also happy to supply VORTEX 6082-T6 and *AA6082-T6 premium grade aluminium tubing that was manufactured especially for us. This is a special metric order of 6 different sizes of tube all of which neatly telescope into its counterpart. Our element tubing is stronger than the ‘US’ 6061-T6 aircraft quality stock and should not be confused with other lower quality grades such as 6063-T6 and 6060-T6 often used by other manufacturers.
