ORDERING YOUR VORTEX ANTENNA OR PARTS – FAQ’S
HOW CAN I ORDER MY VORTEX PRODUCT AND BY WHAT METHODS CAN I PAY BY?
The easiest way is to order directly online.
Our integrated online shop accepts most major cards via PAYPAL, GOOGLE CHECKOUT or SAGEPAY.
You can also pay by BACS. If it’s easier we can accept cheques or cash (UK Buyers only).
If you wish to pay via Cash, Cheque or BACS then please DO NOT use the online order form. Contact us first.
Cheques will require a bank clearing period of approx 5 working days prior to the dispatch of goods.
Cash can be only accepted when goods are to be collected in person (Complete Antenna Systems Only).
Cheques are best sent using a ‘Registered’ or ‘Recorded Delivery’ service where the consignment is signed for.
In all instance where the order is not done ONLINE, Please contact us prior to sending in your order.

PAYING FOR YOUR GOODS
Purchases made on this site can be made in three ways, either via PAYPAL, GOOGLE CHECKOUT or SAGEPAY. For goods purchased via Paypal or Google Checkout, the user will initially order from the VORTEX site. Following this you will be temporarily transferred to the Paypal/Google secure website where you can input your payment details and complete your purchase.
IMPORTANT – When purchasing via PAYPAL you will be transferred to the PAYPAY login screen.
Following your ‘Logon’ it may take up to 2 minutes for the PAYPAL server to acknowledge and confirm the transaction.
When the purchase is complete you will be transferred back to VORTEX ANTENNA SYSTEMS. In both instances Vortex Antenna Systems holds no financial information about the buyer. Customers can also order directly with a credit ot debit card using the order form on our own site. Our Payment Service Provider is SAGEPAY (formerly Protx) – the largest independent payment service provider (PSP) in the UK and Ireland. Sage Pay provides a secure payment gateway (Level 1 PCI DSS), processing payments for thousands of online businesses, including ours. It is Sage Pay’s utmost priority to ensure that transaction data is handled in a safe and secure way.
CAN I COLLECT MY PRODUCT IN PERSON?
Buyers can collect their products (Complete Antenna Systems Only) direct from us if they wish, but will need to confirm a date/time beforehand. When ordering select the ‘COLLECT FROM OFFICE’ option when prompted for the shipping method. The shipping total will then show zero. Normally we are open for collections at certain times over a weekend period – please contact us for more details.
CAN I VISIT THE WORKSHOP OR OFFICE?
The workshop and office are in separate locations and neither are open to the public as we are primarily an internet based operation and have no retail premises. However, collection of complete antenna systems from the office can be arranged if required (details above).
DO YOU HAVE A DEALER NETWORK?
Currently we do not have a network of dealers, however we are working with potential partners who will be looking to represent us in both Europe and North America. We hope for an announcement in due course. At present VORTEX Antennas and products are available only directly from us (the manufacturer).
DO YOU VISIT OR ATTEND ANY RALLIES OR SHOWS?
Vortex actively attends all major UK Rallies. During 2012 we exhibited at HAM RADIO 2012 in Friedrichshafen, Germany which introduced Vortex firmly to the International side of the hobby. We intend to continue to support most major UK events in 2012 and hope to attend both Friedrichshafen again in 2013 with a possible presence at Dayton Hamvention in May 2013. You can order from us at any of the events, often with discounts available and we will have a full display of VORTEX literature and goodies at each event.
DO I HAVE TO BUY AN ANTENNA OR CAN I JUST ORDER HARDWARE SEPARATELY?
We are happy to supply a variety of antenna related hardware as individual items including 5 different diameters of 6082-T6 (or if available AA6082-T6 at no extra cost) all of which telescope into each other and have been produced especially for VORTEX. This stock is as good as it gets. These individual items can be ordered directly online from within the ‘Accessories’ section of the shop.
I HAVE MY OWN DESIGN FOR AN ANTENNA THAT I WANT TO BUILD.
- WILL VORTEX SUPPLY ALL THE PARTS FOR ME?
If you have your own bespoke design, please get in touch and we will price up the materials for you (Complete Antenna Systems Only). Pricing will ultimately depend on the antenna design. We can only supply parts that are currently within our inventory.
WHAT METHODS ARE USED TO DESIGN AND TEST VORTEX ANTENNAS?
Presently we use a combination of 4 software packages to model our antennas, although in all cases designs are normally honed and completed using EZNEC+ V5.0. Following on from the initial computer design and simulation, antennas are then built, tested and evaluated in a real world scenario. The shack, facilities and tower at G0UIH are used to evaluate VORTEX antenna products on a daily basis prior to release.
