A 5 element Yagi Antenna for the 2m band from the Vortex ‘Lightweight’ range. The Vortex ‘OWL’ is an ‘Optimised Wideband Low Impedance’ Array. The OWL is unique in that it produces high gain and F/B (Front to back) properties of older low impedance designs while exhibiting wide bandwidth and clean patterns.

The antenna has a natural impedance of around 28 ohms and in order to match this to a 50 ohm coax feed, we include a 75 ohm parallel phasing line which acts as an impedance transformer. The phasing line is a commercial grade 75 ohm stock rated at around 1kw. We can supply a higher rated line if required. 

As you can see from the images, the result is an antenna with excellent pattern, bandwidth and SWR properties. Manufactured from lightweight but extremely strong construction grade 6082-T6 Aluminium stock, this antenna is an excellent balance between weight and strength.

The Vortex 2M5 Yagi antenna is supplied with all hardware including an 8mm 6082-T6 boom to mast mount (2 inch pole), full stainless saddle clamps and U-Bolts – so it’s ready to go straight from the box.
